21 Brass Steam Locomotive Worksplate. as carried by a Stanier LMS Class 5 4-6-0 locomotive works No 1235 - 1935 - as carried by BR 45194. Built by Armstrong Whitworth in October 1935. Spending all its working life in Scotland it was allocated between Glasgow Corkerhill and Ayr from where it was withdrawn in April 1965. Cut up at Motherwell Machinery & Scrap Wishaw 07/65. £200

50 Brass Steam Locomotive Nameplate "LOCH OICH" as carried by a Gresley designed ex GNR K2/2 2-6-0 locomotive BR No "61794" built by Kitson & Co of Leeds in September 1921. Ex loco traces of LNER Apple Green on rear face. Allocations included Peterborough, New England, Edinburgh St Margarets and Glasgow Eastfield, from where it worked the West Highland Line and excursions all over the Scottish Region. Withdrawn July 1960. Note: Loch Oich is located within the "Great Glen" of Scotland and along the route of the Caledonian Canal. Cut up at Cowlairs Works in August 1960.

55 RAILWAY CLOCK - North Staffs Railway 12" Fusee movement dial clock supplied to the North Staffordshire Railway by Thos Armstrong and Bros of Manchester with original dial. The back box has one side door and one lower door with its LMS Brass plate No. 8952 fixed to the side, complete with pendulum and key. A GOOD EXAMPLE OF A RARE CLOCK. Full working order.

72 1950'S Wooden Cased Cigarette Machine. Made by Clement Garrett of Sheffield. On the front of the machine is written the words "WILLS GOLD FLAKE CIGARETTES". The door can be opened, and the lock is present but no key. This machine would have been located inside a restaurant, hotel, booking hall etc. Size 23"x 7" x 6". Excellent condition. £110

100 Brass G.N.S.Ry Steam Locomotive Nameplate "SIR DAVID STEWART" as carried by a Wm Pickersgill/Heywood designed ex GNSR/LNER Class D40 4-4-0 tender locomotive No 6847 becoming LNER/ BR Number "62275" built by the North British Locomotive Co Glasgow in September 1920 works number 22561. Allocated to Kittybrewster and then Keith from where it was withdrawn in December 1955.Cut up at Doncaster Works in January 1956. Sir David Stewart was a Conservative who became the Lord Provost of Aberdeen Between 1889-1895. Extremely rare plate only 21 built in the class, only Seven of these carried names, only four have ever been offered in auction before. First time this particular nameplate has been in Auction. See next lot.

From a Wm Pickersgill/Heywood designed ex GNSR/LNER Class D40 4-4-0 tender locomotive No 6847 becoming LNER/BR Number "62275" built by the North British Locomotive Co Glasgow in September 1920 works number 22561. Allocated to Kittybrewster and then Keith from where it was withdrawn in December 1955. Cut up at Doncaster Works in January 1956. Sir David Stewart was a Conservative who became the Lord Provost of Aberdeen Between 1889-1895. Extremely rare plate only 21 built in the class, only Seven of these carried names, four of which have previously been offered in auction before. First time ever offered in Auction. £700
102 Q/R Poster 1952 BR (ER) "ON EARLY SHIFT" by Terence Cuneo. Professionally backed on acid-free linen with a couple of tears repaired. This was one of Cuneo's first posters for British Railways. "GREENWOOD SIGNAL BOX" was situated 10 miles out from Kings Cross on the East Coast Main Line, and the painting shows  A4 "WILD SWAN" approaching at speed on an express. Very accurate detail and colour, and wonderful early morning light. £600

124 Diesel Locomotive Worksplate "THE HUNSLET ENGINE Co LTD - LEEDS- No3394 - 1946". This one was a batch of five - 93/102HP locos (works order number 54370) that were built for the Admiralty as Yard No 216. All of them were 4-speed 0-4-0 locos to 4'-8.1/2" gauge and were powered by Gardner 4L3 diesel engines. They were all originally sent New from the works to R.N.A.D - Bedenham, Nr Gosport. A trawl through some of the online databases on the Internet reveals that the only surviving loco from the batch is LD3395 which, at least up to September 2009, was at Bere Ferrers Station in Devon. Ex Loco condition.

195 RAILWAY CLOCK. Cheshire Lines Committee Joint Railway 12" Dial clock No. 203  BR(M) No. 18237  Supplied by W Mc Ferran of Manchester  Circa 1870. It came from Ashley Station, East Cheshire, it is still open today. The quality English Chain Driven fusee movement has "A" shaped plates held together by cylindrical pillars. The Mahogany case has a one piece turned surround and a spun brass bezel. The back box has one side door and one lower door with a brass looking catch. The lower door retains the C L C Instructions for regulating the clock and confirms the C L C Clock No.203 and station location of ASHLEY.  A fine example of a rare clock, complete with pendulum and key. Full working order. £1800

233 Diesel Locomotive Worksplate "THE HUNSLET ENGINE Co LTD - LEEDS- No3393 - 1946". This one was a batch of five - 93/102HP Locos. (works order number 54370) - was despatched on 14/10/1946 RNAD, and was recognised by the Admiralty as Yard No 215. All of them were 4-speed 0-4-0 locos to 4'-8.1/2" gauge and were powered by Gardner 4L3 diesel engines. They were all originally sent New from the works to R.N.A.D - Bedenham, Nr Gosport. A trawl through some of the online databases on the Internet reveals that the only surviving loco from the batch is LD3395 which, at least up to September 2009, was at Bere Ferrers Station in Devon. Ex Loco condition.

245 C/I Steam Locomotive Worksplate. As carried by a Canadian Pacific Railroad D6B Class 4-6-0 3 Cylinder Compounds. Built by North British Locomotive Company in 1903 to order No L9, Works Numbers 16034 to 16053 at their Hyde Park Works. These locomotives were originally known as class ST12 and carried running numbers 981 to 1000. They were renumbered and re-classified D6B under the Vaughn system and carried running numbers 520 to 539. Some were rebuilt in 1921 to simple expansion locomotives. It would appear that this plate is a replacement or additional works plate fitted in 1905 in keeping with the standard type rectangular plates fitted on CPR locomotives. Some locomotives were scrapped pre WW2 the remainder soon after. £300

348 Brass Oval Locomotive Cabside Number plate "CAMINHOS - DE - FERRO MOCAMBIQUE 478". From a 3ft 6ins gauge 4-8-2 + 2-8-4 Garratt, built under licence by Haine St Pierre. New to Caminhos de Ferro Mocambique, their No 478, the class hauled heavy traffic to Rhodesia on the Beira to Umtali line. When civil war broke out in 1975 they were fitted with armoured cabs and most were withdrawn or wrecked by the late 1980s. Cast brass 14¼"x71/2", ex loco condition. £700
