Lot 330 | Brass LNER Steam Locomotive Nameplate "HARVESTER" as carried by a Gresley designed ex LNER A3 4-6-2 Pacific Locomotive BR No 60074 built by the North British Locomotive Co, Glasgow (Works No 23111) in October 1924 and rebuilt from an A1 to an A3 in April 1928. Allocations included Gateshead, Edinburgh Haymarket, York, Heaton and Leeds Neville Hill from where it was withdrawn in April 1963. Cut up at Doncaster works 06/63. Harvester (1881-1906) was a famous British thoroughbred racehorse and sire. A magnificent plate that we present for the first time in Auction since being removed from the loco. |
