Brass Steam Locomotive Nameplate "CITY OF HEREFORD" as carried by a Stanier designed ex LMS 8P Coronation class 4-6-2 No. 46255 built at Crewe works in October 1946. Allocations included Camden, Crewe North, Carlisle Upperby and Carlisle Kingmoor from where it was withdrawn in September 1964. Cut up at Arnott Young West of Scotland Shipbreaking, Troon, South Ayrshire 12/64. Front polished and cleaned, back ex loco. Stunning example.

Brass Steam Locomotive Nameplate "KING GEORGE II" as carried by a Collett designed Ex GWR 4-6-0 No. 6005 built at Swindon works in July 1927. Allocated to only Wolverhampton Stafford Road and Old Oak Common, it was withdrawn from the latter in November 1962. Cut up at Cashmore's, Great Bridge 10/63. This plate is the first time in auction. George reigned as King of Britain and Ireland from 1683-1760, born and bred in Northern Germany he is the most recent monarch to be born outside of Great Britain. Vendor purchased direct from Swindon. Front restored, back ex-loco condition.

Brass Steam Locomotive Nameplate "WELLINGTON" as carried by a Collett designed Castle Class Ex GWR 4-6-0 No. 5075, built at Swindon works in August 1938. Allocations included Wolverhampton Stafford Road, Chester (WR) Plymouth Laira, Exeter, Neath, Cardiff Canton and Bristol St. Philips Marsh from where it was withdrawn in September 1962. Cut up at Cashmore's, Newport, South Wales 12/62. Vickers' Wellington was a British twin-engined long-range medium bomber in service between June 1936 and March 1953. This plate is the first time in auction. Vendor purchased direct from Swindon. Front restored, back ex-loco condition.

Brass Steam Locomotive Nameplate "MOREHAMPTON GRANGE" as carried by a Collett designed Ex GWR 4-6-0 No. 6853, built at Swindon works in November 1937. Allocations included Leamington Spa, Stratford-on-Avon and Tyseley from where it was withdrawn in October 1965. Cut up at Cohen's, Cransley, Kettering 04/66. One of Tyseley's favourites - Morehampton Grange was a dwelling in the parish of Abbey Dore a few miles north of Pontrillas, Herefordshire. Vendor purchased direct from Swindon. Front restored, back ex- loco condition. This plate is the first time in auction. The vendor was a fitter at Tyseley in the early 60s and this Grange was one of his favourite locos, so to make sure he got the nameplate, he wrote and requested to purchase it and then pre -paid for it three years prior to withdrawal.

Brass Steam Locomotive Nameplate "COUNTY OF CARMARTHEN" as carried by a Hawksworth designed Ex GWR 4-6-0 No. 1009 with extended side plate built at Swindon works in December 1945. Allocations included Carmarthen, Plymouth Laira, Neyland, Swindon Test Plant, Bristol Bath Road and St. Philips Marsh from where it was withdrawn in February 1963. Cut up at Cashmore's Newport, South Wales 08/63. This plate is the first time in auction. Vendor purchased direct from Swindon. Front restored, back ex-loco condition.

Brass Steam Locomotive Nameplate "COLOMBO" as carried by a Gresley designed ex GNER/LNER/BR Class A3 4-6-2 Number "60036" built at Doncaster works in July 1934. Allocations included Gateshead, York, Heaton, Kings Cross, Leeds Copley Hill, Ardsley and Leeds Neville Hill from where it was withdrawn November 1964. Cut up at Drapers, Neptune Street Goods, Hull 03/65. Colombo was a British thoroughbred racehorse and sire. In a career that lasted from April 1933 to June 1934 he ran eleven times and won nine races. Colombo was an outstanding two-year-old, unbeaten in seven races in 1933.

Brass Steam Locomotive Nameplate "ARMADA" as carried by a Stanier designed ex LMS class 6P 4-6-0 No. 45679 built at Crewe works in December 1935. Allocations included Chester, Sheffield Milhouses, Bristol Barrow Road, Carlisle Kingmoor, Crewe North, Longsight and Newton Heath from where it was withdrawn in December 1962. Cut up at Darlington North Road works 11/63. Armada is the Spanish and Portuguese name for Naval fleets. Ex-loco condition front and back. This is the left-hand fireman's side plate.

Brass Steam Locomotive Nameplate "HOWN HALL" as carried by a Hawksworth designed 4-6-0 Modified Hall No. 7910, built at Swindon works in January 1950. Allocations included Southall, Old Oak Common, Reading, Didcot, and Oxford from where it was withdrawn in February 1965. Cut up at Swindon works 05/65. This is the left hand firemans side plate. Ex Loco condition front and back. Hown Hall is located seven miles north west of Gloucester at Taynton. The building is now in use as the farmhouse of Hown Hall Farm.
