2 L.M.S - 3 Aspect "Guards Hand Lamp" Brass plated "A. E. Day" on the top and L.M.S. Railway on the side. All slatted glasses are present which are red, clear and very unusually, a set of purple. Also, L.M.S is inscribed on the ceramic part of the brass burner which again is extremely unusual and not seen before on an L.M.S lamp. Restored Condition. £50

"THE HUNSLET ENGINE CO LTD - LEEDS - No 3878 -REBUILT - 1961" still affixed with its small engraved brass plate "AUSTERITY LOCOMOTIVE BUILT FOR THE 2nd WORLD WAR ORIGINALLY DATED 1945 VULCAN FOUNDRY No 5280". Originally built as a 0-6-0 by Bagnall of Stafford and allocated new to Marchwood Depot - Hampshire as WD 75290 and Named "MANIPUR". Then transferred to the Longmoor Military Railway. Sold to Hunslet in 1960 and rebuilt as works No 3878 - 1961. Subsequently sold to the NCB at Maerdy Colliery, South Wales were it was numbered No 3. Scrapped June 1971. Ex Loco condition. £185

19 D/R Poster 1950s BR "Bath - In 1828 by the New Steam Carriage - Today by Western Region" by Eric Fraser. The Goldsworthy Gurney steam carriage is depicted, averaging 14mph between London and Bath. Very good folded condition.  
20 Q/R Poster 1950s BR "Ireland Overnight - Dublin via Holyhead - Belfast via Heysham" by Claude Buckle. An atmospheric view of the ferry TSS Duke of Lancaster crossing the Irish Sea at night. Good folded condition, some tape residue around edges and small loss to top left corner.  
21 Q/R Poster 1964 BR untitled version of "Ffestiniog Railway - The Pass Track" by Terence Cuneo. Produced in support of the work to extend the line from Tan-y-Bwlch, and then also re-issued to celebrate the 100th anniversary of its passenger trains the following year. Good condition, professionally backed on linen, with some restored wear and tears. £120

23 An industrial locomotive nameplate, LIVERPOOL, together with its matching worksplate, HUDSWELL CLARKE, 1081, 1914, and BR registration plate, RAILWAY EXECUTIVE, No 71, 1952, from a standard gauge 0-4-0ST new to Rowland Owen & Sons, Haulage Contractors, at Seacombe, Cheshire. In 1945 it went to Joseph Perrin & Son Ltd, Haulage Contractors of Birkenhead and in January 1964 to Robert Smith & Sons of Cathcart Street, Birkenhead for scrap they scrapped it the following May. Cast brass, the nameplate 28½" long, the works plate 13"x8", the registration plate, cast iron 12"x6", all ex loco condition. £600

New to Rowland Owen, Shunting Contractors at Seacombe, Liverpool, on closure 1945 it was transferred to Joseph Perrins of Birkenhead - Scrapped in May 1964 by Robert Smith & Son of Birkenhead. 66 Early Brass Oval "AVELING & PORTER Royalty Worksplate, together with boiler washout instructions plate from the same engine. Aveling & Porter No 2846 was an 8nhp agricultural locomotive (combined/convertible), which was supplied to Hornsey Local Board on 1st June 1891. On 20th October 1902 it was resold to the Wingham Agricultural Implement Company, Kent. It was fitted with a scarifier (No 620). Both plates mounted on a back board. Together with its accompanying boiler washout instruction plate. The engine long since scrapped, this is a delightful early plate example, there being only 15 Aveling Porter examples that are earlier than this surviving in preservation. £210
