engraved "SCROOBY" on one side and "STOP BOARD" on other
side of casing. Complete with original lamp inner, vessel & interior also
plated "STOP BOARD No 4". All complete and intact. A rare survivor
in excellent condition. Location between Retford and Doncaster.

and cut up at Birds Morriston on the 31/10/1965.

A brass dual language SOUTH AFRICAN RAILWAY
LOCOMOTIVE CABSIDE NUMBERPLATE "3019 – 15F" from the, 3ft 6in gauge,
4-8-2 locomotive built by North British in 1944/ 5. Designed for use on
lightly laid branch lines; this class of locomotive was fitted with rotary
cam valve gear. Although some loco’s worked in the reef areas and out of Bloemfontein, most ended their days
in the Western Cape and had all been withdrawn by 1978.
Good condition.

treated as trespassers, and such leave and license are granted only on the
conditions and subject to the Rules and Regulations below." The
"Rules Regulations and Conditions" then continue underneath. Dated "August 1895. W.W Vivian
Director and General Manager". No chips or repairs, totally original
condition. Size 22.5 X 13.5".

"TALIESIN". As carried by a Ffestiniog Railway Locomotive 0-4-4T.
Built in 1876 by the Vulcan Foundry. It was a single Fairlie locomotive &
it was in use (on & off) until 1932. The nameplates from "Taliesin"
were later put onto the double Fairlie loco@ "Livingston Thompson"
until it was scrapped in 1971. Since then the Ffestiniog Railway have made a
replica engine to the original "Taliesin", which is still in use
today. The replica was built in the late 90s. Size 22.5" X 5".

two sections. Acquired from the station on closure 4 May 1970 and has been in
storage since then. Yarmouth’s South Town station was originally the terminus
of the East Suffolk Railway and had a direct service from London Liverpool
Street via Ipswich and Beccles. Some rust marks to face as would be expected
but a respectable and rare example. Acquired on station closure by vendor’s
father who was a local railway employee. Found behind a hedge on a boundary fence and had been
left Forgotten / undiscovered for 30 years. Sizes 52"
X 36" and 57" x 36".

A brass locomotive Nameplate
and brass Cabside numberplate from "CRAWLEY GRANGE". As carried GWR "Grange" Class 4-6-0 locomotive No. 6872. Completed at Swindon Works in December
1936 under Lot 308 and one of a class of eighty mixed traffic locomotives,
always popular with loco’ crews. This engine served for exactly twenty seven
years based at Newton Abbot, St. Blazey, Exeter and Penzance until withdrawal
from St. Philips Marsh in December 1963. She was cut up at Swindon in January
1964. Left hand side plate. Crawley Grange is situated near Newport Pagnell,
Buckinghamshire. This plate comes with the original bill of sale from
Swindon showing date and cost when purchased along with a selection of
photographs of the engine. See next lot.

"2061" As carried by a 0-6-0 Pannier tank loco’. Built
Wolverhampton April 1899, new to Stourbridge (STB). Lot H3, Works no. 665.
The 2121 class were a larger and modernised version of the 850 class,
including a longer wheelbase to accommodate larger U class firebox. Rebuilt
with pannier tanks September 1932, together with a B4 Belpaire boiler. At
some time also rebuilt with an enclosed cab. Last GWR shed was Stafford Road
(SRD), and here with 2067, 2095, 2109, 2110, and 2156. April 1952 to
Gloucester 85B, then back to Stafford Road May 1952, Wellington 84H February
1953 and withdrawn from there April 1955. Scrapped quickly at Swindon. Front
restored, back totally ex-loco condition.

A G.W.R. brass steam locomotive nameplate, brass
cabside and cast iron smokebox plate from "EARL OF DARTMOUTH". As carried by the
4073 Castle Class 4-6-0 No. 5047. The loco was built in April 1936. The plate
was first fitted in 1936 to Dukedog 3204 and transferred to 5047 in August
1937. It has the slightly larger splasher of a different radius and the four Swindon brass blanking plugs are clearly
visible on the back, fitted when the plate was re-drilled for 5047. Mileage
was recorded as 1,225,670. Allocations were Newton Abbot (83A) and Stafford Road (84A). Stored at Swindon Works 9/62 – 2/63. Cut up Swindon Works 3/63. A unique opportunity to
acquire this superb set, in excellent condition, still with its original
splasher paint and lining. Front is cleaned and polished with back original.
A regular loco’ seen often on "The Cornishman".

70A Nine Elms from where it was withdrawn in July 1967. Cut up at Buttigiegs,

ownership since 1968. "Never seen the light of day" in 45 years.
Left hand side plate. Never been offered in auction before. Purchased by
tender in 1968 by the original owner for £148.00. Truly a superb and stunning example.

in the Western Cape and had all been withdrawn by 1978.

up at Woodhams, Barry in February 1965. The front repainted cream on red, the
back untouched.

"2800" 2-8-0 built at Swindon in April 1940. Allocated new to
Cardiff Canton, later sheds included 86E Severn Tunnel Junction, 82C Swindon,
83D Laira, 86G Pontypool Road and 86B Newport. It was converted at Swindon to
burn oil between 1945 & 1948 and was withdrawn from 81C Southall in June
1965 and cut up at Birds Ltd in Risca in August 1965. The plate has been
welded across the centre and across the left hand corner but this does not
show on the repainted front. Supplied with historical data sheet. Front
repainted only.

On the Ex Mid & S W Jct between Cirencester and Marlborough, closed to passengers in 1961 and finally 1964 to freight.
The original box plates were more "chunky" and of wood it was still attached in the late 1940s but certainly by late 50s
it was the newer lighter metal plate that is on offer today. Swindon "A" box was at the north end of Swindon Town Station.
There was a larger "B" box at the south end – again with identical later style plate. Size 50"x 6". Good condition.
Items from this line are very rare and collectable indeed.
