Lot 210 Brass Oval Electric Locomotive Worksplate SOUTH AFRICAN RAILWAYS E.15 1E. Class 1E's were South Africa's first batch of 78 electric locomotives - an eventual fleet of 172 locos built for SAR in seven series by four manufacturers over a 20-year period. E15 was built by Swiss Locomotive & Machine Works (SLM) in 1923. The early models bore number plates inscribed in English only and were employed principally in Natal. Face restored, rear ex-loco.
