Lot 76 L.N.W.R Station Seatback "THORPE CLOUD". A rare surviving early example with cast letters mounted in a recess in the timber seatback. Opened in 1899 between the villages of Thorpe and Fenny Bentley in Dovedale, Derbyshire, south east of Buxton and closed to passengers in 1954. Like the previous station at Tissington it was built on a gradient of 1 in 60, downwards towards Ashbourne. Ex-station condition.
