Lot 12 Brass Steam Locomotive Nameplate "ONTARIO". As carried by a W. Stanier designed ex LMS Class 6P ex LMS 4-6-0 Number "45554" built at Crewe Works in June 1934. Allocations included Preston, Bushbury, Rugby, Camden, Longsight, Sheffield Millhouses, Nottingham, Edge Hill and Crewe North from where it was withdrawn in November 1964. Cut up at Ward's Beighton, Sheffield 06/65. The plate has seven bolt holes and comes from the fireman's side. Ex-loco front and back with some original maroon paint present on rim. Recovered by the late vendor at the end of steam and never before offered at auction.
