Lot 38 Steam Locomotive Flame Cut Cabside Panel "60007" As removed from LNER A4 "SIR NIGEL GRESLEY" at its first overhaul undertaken at the NRM Workshop when stripped to the chassis and boiler in the preservation era over 20 years ago. This is the original Fireman's Cabside Panel and both front cab frame windows from when built in the 1930s and is offered with the two original front windows. Fastest recorded post war speed with British steam on 23 May 1959. No. 60007 'Sir Nigel Gresley' achieved 112 mph, hauling 400 tons down Stoke Bank. Purchased by the vendor direct from the Gresley Society engineers. Is this the ultimate 'Body side panel / Flame cut'? Would surely grace any enthusiast's garage. Just stunning!!
