German "DB" Steel Diesel Locomotive Number Plate "143 170 - 9". Built 1986 by LEW in Hennigsdorf, German Democratic Republic, class 243, Works number 18919. Delivered to Deutsche Reichsbahn (DR) as 243 170-9. 1st January 1992: renumbered 143 170-9 under the "Deutsche Bahn AG" (DB) numbering scheme. 18th October 2007: renumbered 143 170 (painted number, losing the steel number plate) under the EU directive regarding vehicle numbering. Today still in regional passenger train service round Frankfurt/Main. Size 33" x 8".
