Lot 37A Very rare opportunity for the modern traction purist - Alloy Oval Diesel Railcar Worksplate, "B.R - AC Cars Ltd - Thames Ditton - Lot No 30479 - 1958" As carried by a 4-wheel railcar, one of only five built under this lot number - this example being from the sole example to work in the Scottish Region as "SC79979". The car was in service from 1958 to 1968, the body eventually dumped in the foliage at Boat of Garten station in April 1989. Asbestos removal was too expensive so the body was moved to M C Metal Processing, Springburn Works October 1990 and swiftly cut up. The plate is in Ex-service as removed condition. One of this batch of five survives in preservation at the Colne Valley Railway, Essex. All the others 79975 - 79978 spent their last years in service in Scotland initially transferring to 66A Polmadie.
