Lot 35 Brass Steam Locomotive Nameplate "WILLINGTON HALL" As carried by a Hawksworth designed Modified Hall Class 4-6-0 No 7927 built at Swindon Works in October 1950. Allocations included Reading, Old Oak Common, Cardiff Canton, Cardiff East Dock, Newport Ebbw Jct, and Oxford from where it was withdrawn in December 1965. Sent to Woodham's Barry in February 1966 for scrapping it was subsequently purchased for preservation and it now resides at the Llangollen Railway where the frames and boiler have been used for new steam loco projects. Willington Hall is a country house hotel in Tarporley, Cheshire - 9 miles from Chester.
