C/I Locomotive Smoke box Number plate "2873" As carried by a Churchward designed ex GWR 2-8-0 built at Swindon Works in November 1918. Allocations included Newton Abbot, Newport Ebbw Jct, Cardiff Canton, Bristol Bath Road, Exeter, Severn Tunnel Jct, Aberdare and Southall from where it was withdrawn in December 1964. Originally dispatched to Woodhams at Barry for scrap it was eventually purchased for preservation and currently resides at the South Devon Railway, Buckfastleigh in unrestored condition.
