Lot 283 C/I Brass Oval LNER Steam Locomotive Worksplate. "LNER - 905 - DARLINGTON WORKS 1940". As carried by a Gresley Class V2 class 2-6-2 works No 4875. Built at Darlington in April 1940, renumbered 905 in July in 1946 after the fatal accident at Potters bar becoming BR 60905. Cast brass, 9"x5", lightly cleaned but unpainted. Allocations included New England, Kings Cross, Grantham, Doncaster from where it was withdrawn and cut up in September 1963.
