Lot 150 A GWR BRASS LOCOMOTIVE NAMEPLATE "CRAWLEY GRANGE". As carried GWR "Grange" Class 4-6-0 locomotive No. 6872. Completed at Swindon Works in December 1936 under Lot 308 and one of a class of eighty mixed traffic locomotives, always popular with loco crews. This engine served for exactly twenty seven years based at Newton Abbot, St. Blazey, Exeter and Penzance until withdrawal from St. Philips Marsh in December 1963. Cut up Swindon Jan / 64.
