C/I SMOKEBOX NUMBERPLATE "6835". As carried by Ex GWR "EASTHAM GRANGE"4-6-0 Locomotive built at Swindon 1937. Allocatednew to 84B Oxley, 84C Banbury, 82B St Phillips Marsh, 83G Penzances, back to 82B Where withdrawal took place. Cut up at Swindon 9/63. Front restored, back ex-loco condition. Interestingly, there is another 6835 plate with the owner of one of the nameplates with whom we have been in contact. Was this a replacement? It is certainly in ex-loco condition, has been carried and looks right.
