| Lot 125 | A Steam Locomotive Nameplate "Moreton Hall" as carried by Collett 4-6-0 locomotive "5908" built at Swindon in 1931. First allocated to Swindon it subsequently moved to 87J Fishguard for a long period before ending its days at 88A Cardiff Canton where it was withdrawn in July 1963 but went to Reading for Storage by March 1964 and scrapped at Cashmores, Newport, South Wales 5/64. Moreton Hall is 4 miles south west of Congleton, Cheshire. Left hand plate. Last seen in Auction Sept 1998. |
